This was such a fantastic production from start to finish! Really camp, and some phenomenal acts from all the cast. Honorable mentions go to Cap'n Jack Sparrow, Izma (Emperor's New Groove), Bleaker (The Muppets), The Lost Boys (Peter Pan - great energy!!), Little Bo Peep, Hannah Montana, and Sheego (Kim Possible). Loved the range, from the classic Disney characters to modern day, to Disney Channel shows we grew up with, to new additions to the Disney universe like The Muppets. 10/10!!

Positive cheeky fun! Dizney Debauched promises to be an unleashed night of debauchery and sexy striptease through the artform which is burlesque.

The troupe from Ardent Artiste Productions perform as their alter Dizney villain, showcasing their wicked-side and their desire to be naughty! Many burlesque style shows tend to be on the extreme adult-rating scale; however, this show was more on the tamer side. Think more MA15 than R18+… This may be due to the overarching message delivered by Ardent Artiste Productions, which is one of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Throughout the show, the audience is reminded that artistic expression is for all (not just the Dizney Princesses), and that burlesque is a great artform for body-positivity and empowerment. The start of the show is a slow burn, with the opening act being less dangerous and sweeter than you would expect, but hang in there people, the energy definitely ramps up!!!

The standout performances throughout the night were the group acts, as they were full of energy, laughter and comradery. Keep your eyes peeled for The Lost Boys as they bang-a-rang hard! The Jonesway Theatre is very small and cosy venue and therefore the show is very intimate. It is important for the audience to participate and be ready to cheer, as all good villains know how to sniff out fear and the weak link in the crowd (Good luck trying to hide).

Overall, this show was less naughty and more on the cheeky side and this may be due to the performers being early in their burlesque career (the production company started less than 3 years ago). However, the potential and enthusiasm is there, and it will be awesome to watch these performers grow, mature and develop their stage presence in the years to come. Come for the villains you love to hate but stay for the positive message of inclusivity and empowerment!
