“TV is Forever”. Presented by Mummy’s Plastic as part of their TV World series, Rose [Live] - Uncut isn’t just a FRINGE WORLD show, it’s a FRINGE WORLD religion.

Tucked into the underworld of The Recabite, bathed in pink neon lights, the smell of hairspray, and memories of Rave Reliefs’ past, an expectant audience was taken to church.

In Rose Nation, TV is God, Rose’s Kylie is our Madonna, and we are her digital disciples. Alessandro, our clipboard wielding MC, directs the congregation with a wry candor. Contrasting - Rose and Elijah are a wild and magnetic duo - leaving no pun unturned.

Rose as our central figure is captivating. A screen and literary icon in bimbo form, there is something so distinctly relatable, yet untouchable about her signature embodiment of her Mummy’s Plastic brand. In solidarity, held together by nothing but duct tape and a dream, Elijah preaches a gospel that only an Uncut queer could. It’s giving: Camgirl Karaoke For a Cause.

Wrangling together live performance, audio-visual content, improv and crowd-work, it is clear the team behind Rose [Live] Uncut have a shared vision. Their charisma and chemistry are infectious, and you can’t help but feel like you’re in on the joke (if you can keep up…).

Complemented by Jack Caddy’s digital art pieces - a true highlight - this sketch comedy/experimental theatre/biopic/talk-show/exposé of millennial culture and linguistics is a curatorial fever dream. With palm-card like hymn books, line-reading lookalikes and a Chicken DJ resembling Feathers McGraw in disguise, the church of Mummy’s Plastic is oh so very…Perth. And it’s Perthfect.

If you like word-play, outlandish theatrics, proud mistakes, and prouder recoveries, Rose [Live] Uncut is required viewing, and Mummy’s Plastic TV World is an experience you’ll take to the grave.
