This raucous night out is one you don't want to miss. Complete with live music, hilarious anecdotes and impromptu flying tampons, Filthy Funny Females is the ideal girl's night out.

This show features international talent and a different line-up each night. I was fortunate enough to experience tales of Jessica's tattoo misadventures, Roxy's Rottnest disaster and Kate's queer Wiggles impression, with Kath as their quick-witted host. No matter whether you see these performers or others, these women are sure not to disappoint. The show acts as a taster for each comedian, so if you especially like one performer, you can attend their main show.

The best thing about having multiple comedians in one set is that you get to experience different senses of humour, but the sisterhood and women's experiences is a theme throughout. Break-ups, pap smears and one night stands are heartily made fun of, and even though the performers come from all over the world, it seems some things are universal.

The venue is intimate, so expect to be picked on and asked whether you're filthy, funny, or female. They're loud, they're feisty, they will definitely yell at you. There's discussion about what it means to be feminist or not, to be a woman or man or more, but it's all done in a light and fun way.

So grab your girlfriends, your boyfriends, your mum, your netball team, and come out for a good laugh. They're filthy, they're funny, and they're unapologetic: give them your best energy (and a tampon... But please not the ones with the applicators).
