Just as the name suggests, "Boganlesque" is a burlesque show, but smeared with Vegemite and doused with amber fluid. It is as crazy-funny as you might expect, with some ABCs of living the bogan dream abounding - Armadale, Beer, and the C-word. The audience was warned that if you can't take hearing the C-word or F-Bomb over and over again, then this show ticket may not have your name on it. No one left, and the howls of laughter began. The opening set with Lucy Lovegun in her flannel shirt and cutoffs eating a snag with "Highway to Hell" playing loudly was a scream and set the tone for the rest of this delightfully naughty show.

Produced by Skye High Burlesque, "Boganlesque" does not disappoint and in fact, is a refreshing and hilarious uplift from the typical burlesque variety shows of prance, dance, tease, strip, shake booty, twirl tassels, repeat. There is all that, PLUS: a sexy flanno glove peel, a beer can tassel twirl, other fun beer can uses, seductive chair dancing with an Eskie, Pauline Hanson stripping while pontificating, a wicked girl fight, a hunk juggling utensils and tearing his shirt off at the barbie to "Drop That Ass to the Floor," and cute bin chickens dancing while cleaning up tinnies. There was some unexpected full nudity which was probably not needed with all of the other good visuals going on.

The hosts, Rhys Suscitation and Minxy Milva, led us through their journey of piecing together, vague memory by vague memory, the events of the previous night. And, it was no surprise that it was all quite the interesting blur. A key objective was finding Rhys' lost trainer and their overwhelming desire for a shuey. The hosts remained in character well and were the thread that tied everything together, as there were many different performers and skits.

Make "Boganlesque" one of your last acts of FRINGE WORLD and go out with a bang. It runs again Saturday night the 17th Feb at Connections and also on Sunday, the 18th - the final night of FRINGE WORLD.
