As the show’s start time approached there was a buzz of anticipation in the packed room at the Rosemount Hotel. Expectations were high that we were about to be taken on a wild and filthy ride. And so it proved. Vanessa Larry Mitchell is as far from demure as you could possibly imagine, but wow, will she make you laugh.

The Saturday afternoon audience was probably 90% female and from the nods and raucous laughter there was much for the women to identify with (including a lot of stuff that wouldn’t normally be admitted to), but don’t worry fellas, there is plenty in there for us – listen and learn.

At times it seems as though we had all stumbled into a meeting of the sisterhood, a sisterhood united by a love of all that the vagina has to offer, but also some of the trials and tribulations that having such an organ brings. Make no mistake, this show is determinedly salacious, but such good fun.

Vanessa regaled us with several experiences involving sexual encounters, vegetables, online dating and the like. Remembered or perhaps just recounted ‘for a friend’? Either way, hilarious tales.

The topics Vanessa focused on were diverse - covering sex, dating, sex, personal hygiene, sex, parenting, and sex. Do you get the picture? And of course, nothing is sacred, so a sensitive soul might just be a little grossed out.

Vanessa has sass in spades and a wicked, razor-sharp delivery, a great example of which was her brutal take-down of a prominent East Coast political knob. I also particularly liked Vanessa’s wonderfully innovative views on the institution of marriage and how to reduce the divorce rate.

Vanessa is beyond naughty and will have tears of laughter rolling down your face, but get in quick as she is only doing a short run here at FRINGE WORLD, and you wouldn’t want to miss out.
