3) The Grand Walk-Off!
Went in with an open mind to the possibilities of fun and laughter tonight. What I got was being blown away by the talent in the top 4!
MC BB Gun is a sharpshooter from the get-go. With a mix of Drag Queens, Drag Kings and clowns it promised to be a variety of fun. First-ever Drag Walk off.
Some of the songs and song choices really hit right through the heart and thus we began our journey on the rollercoaster of emotions for the night. Some beautiful moments of vulnerability amongst the fun and shenanigans. Moesha and the authentic cultural dancing were absolutely beautiful.
We were offered an insight, for a fleeting moment, to each competitor and that in itself was amazing. I was inspired by Prism and their song and Toots....speechless to say the least.
What started off as a bit of Fringe fun for the night ended up being a showcase of what talent we have here in Perth. The banter between the judges and the audience was organised chaos and I loved every minute of it.
Hairy Godmother, Nanna (from Nanna Bingo show) and Dandy McGee really got the crowd on their side. They were awesome judges and their banter at times priceless.
The audience was made to feel included right from the start and the energy in the room was awesome. Over the course of the show, the audience became more and more involved and the finale was just amazing craziness.
I loved being an audience member and loved the sheer joy of every performer. Having an introduction, talent show and final 4 battling it out was a great show. I loved the whole vibe and getting right into the spirit of the night with the rest of the audience.
