Some hours are just glimmering beacons of light and Golden Hour is one of them. Set in WA’s own beautiful Spiegeltent this show features the Masterful BB Motherfking Gun who commands the stage making every event seamless, hilarious and hyping every single rockstar that graces the stage during this Golden Hour.
This is introduced as an “All killer no filler awards show” because every artist is an absolute powerhouse and an award winner in their own right, from beauties with bubbles, athletic and agile arial artistry, to an exquisite Drag King (Darren Von Envy) to dirty humour that hits the mark consistently, you’re in for a good time.
This variety show had a stellar all-star cast but a special mention must go to Miss Kelly Ann Doll whose characterisation is second to none. Her burlesque act is the perfect combination of sexy and funny, her costume is resplendent, both tasselled and sparkly. The polished timing of lighting, music and sound effects only adds to her natural shine on stage.
Nastier rocks the stage to Lizzo, she is all sass, thigh-high boots and handstands, this artist has got the moves, she literally has the audience spontaneously leaping out of the seats and dancing in the aisles and isn’t that what Fringe is all about, irrepressible bursts of joy?
Aves (avo) Robins is a phenomenal trans comedian and I can unreservedly say they are one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever seen. Aves had me leaving the theatre and looking up their solo show so they can take my money.
Miss Burlesque Australia Diesel Darling kept the laughs coming, she showed off her stunningly flexible prowess in fluffy stilettos and had the audience in the palm of their hand on the rollercoaster ride that was their performance.
Trigger Happy showcased a Shrek-style performance that has to be seen to be believed and the commitment to the act was spectacular. If you are looking for a knockout show this season look no further, the Golden Hour is here to sparkle up your night.
