“Greatest of all time”
Amazing magician, he captivated the audience the whole way through with his great narrative and mind blowing tricks that left even my smart-arse teenagers without a clue how he did it. We talked about his act all weekend.

Gonzo Magic is a magic show like no other!

You don't normally expect that during a magic show, the magician will actually explain some of the thinking and trickery behind their illusions. However, Magician Pierre Ulric is such a master at his craft, that even if you are watching his hands like a hawk, he still manages to distract you with a flick of his hands and blow your mind with the WOW moment of his magic tricks.

The show started off a bit slowly, with a few little tricks to get the audience warmed up, but each illusion got more and more theatrical and impressive as the show went on, until the audience was "ooh"-ing and "aaah"-ing every couple of seconds. Several times throughout the show there were loud exclamations of "How the **** did he do that!" (and not just from me!)

The show featured some fantastic sleight of hands, card and coin tricks, magical hats, and my favourite illusion, the classic balls under cups routine - with a twist (no spoilers here!).

Pierre Ulrich is an absolute expert in close-up magic, and even as he talks through what he is doing during some of the tricks, you will still be wracking your brain, trying to figure out how he fooled you. There were some great audience participation moments with some very impressed volunteers and a lot of jokes and laughter during the show.

As Pierre Ulrich explains throughout the show, magic and illusions are a combination of suggestion, lying (with your body), and psychology, but if his performance is anything to go by, I still think he possesses a little touch of magic!
