With a narrative exploring our reliance on technology and media messaging, The Dreamer showcases a broad variety of skills in this eclectic one-person show put on by ARC Circus.
Performer Robbie Curtis’ background in circus, acro and ballet shone through with a mesmerising performance with diverse skills (magic, dance, acro, contortion (is squeezing yourself through a very small object contortion?), and pole) that highlighted his grace and strength!
More than that, it was a really fun show that is suitable for all ages.
A solo show where the performer doesn’t speak is a rare find. It is difficult to connect with the audience when you can’t rely on speech but Robbie didn’t need to rely on dialogue. He found ways to connect with the audience including some audience participation that got a good laugh.
It is hard to find a show that both kids and adults can enjoy but this show would appeal to anyone who enjoys circus.
