A fabulous night out! Big band energy never felt so good!

Award-winning Perth Cabaret Collective delivers an incredible performance channelling the timeless classics of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra at the Ellington Jazz Club. Celebrating 10 years of the Perth Cabaret Collective, these brilliant performers showcased not only incredible musical talent but an infectious fun-loving energy sweeping the audience off their feet.

Led by founder and talented saxophonist Jess Herbert, Perth Cabaret Collective transported the Ellington Jazz Club to a bygone era with the hits of jazz legends. Playing to a packed room, Herbert’s musical direction seamlessly weaved wonderful choices of repertoire with a nine-piece ensemble.

Vocalists Mark Turner and Victoria Newton effortlessly captured the essence of Armstrong, Fitzgerald, and Sinatra with both heartfelt and cheeky renditions of your jazz favourites. Mark Turner is truly one to watch as his charisma and vocal talent oozes throughout each song so effortlessly.

The audience was excitedly waiting for the cheeky one-liners Turner was throwing into each tune as he crooned those ‘Mr S’ favourites. Victoria Newton showcased her fabulous vocals with a stunning rendition of “After You’ve Gone” leaving the audience tapping along with every limb they had.

An absolute standout was trumpeter Matt Smith, whose skilful solos elevated the entire experience. Smith brought a touching emphasis on ‘The Nearness Of You’ complimenting Newton’s beautiful vocals with a mesmerising solo, while also setting the perfect Parisian scene in “La Vie En Rose”.

With only a handful of shows left you don’t want to miss such a sensational performance! Perth Cabaret Collective’s infectious energy was second to none, with each musician celebrating the next and creating an atmosphere of pure joy and togetherness.
