Loved the entire triology, had me laughing and full of anticipation of what was going to happen next. Fantastic cast interactions, story telling and Wheel of Forcetune.

Enter the incredible Rehearsal Room 1 at the State Theatre Centre and prepare to immerse yourself in BS Productions' new production; ‘Improv RPG: Nerf Herders!’

‘Improv RPG: Nerf Herders’ follows The Grand Master Scott McArdle and The Apprentice - for there must always be two! - Daniel Buckle who takes on the roles of our intriguing and captivating Hosts and NPCs who influence the triumphs, failures, and all things in between for Zevira (Rhianna Hall), Nek (Tristan McInnes), and BB-Q (Dr. Stephen B. Platt) - while the amazing Musician Jackson Harper Griggs performs the battle music on the keyboard and sets the scene.

From the use of a massive wheel spinner instead of the mystical D20 to the incredible design creation and capabilities of BB-Q, this production has everything you desire in an RPG campaign: performers who love improvisation, a DM and Apprentice who love to - nicely - torture their friends, and a group of friends who just enjoy having a great time exploring Science Fiction, and what would happen if you just asked nicely.

From the beginning, Scott explains the concept for this production clearly and spectacularly, engaging with the audience naturally, while Rhianna, Tristan, and Dr. Stephen B. Platt took hold of the stage and made it their own, while Jackson added extra energy to the performance with each improvisational change in tone!

While I do not want to give too much away, this production is influenced by the lore and epic saga of Star Wars and follows new characters who are and interact with those who would be alive - and mechanically living - during those much-loved sagas and it is definitely worth seeing all of the episodic performances whenever you get the chance to do so!

Also look out for BS Productions' other show ‘Improv RPG: Dungeons and Dragons’ which begins this Saturday (27/01/2024) at the State Theatre Centre!
