Accept Flynn V’s personal party invitation and join the hottest, craziest, wildest party of Fringe World. We’re talking body shots, make-outs, Vogue walks and more. Queer burlesque with a sprinkling of circus, this is one show you don’t want to miss – but it’s only on for one short night.
Fair warning, this show is crazy. I whispered ‘This is insane’ out loud at least twice. Kinky, freaky, funny, and then really creepy for a moment, there is every mood packed into this bizarre spectacle. But there is also great talent on display, with flawless tricks, perfectly executed dance routines and some truly breathtaking costumes. The show features local and interstate talent, and cameos from some other excellent shows, such as Messy Friends and Club D’amour. This show is guaranteed to impress – though whether your parents will be impressed to find out you ripped your shirt off and did a shot of Fireball off a drag king’s butt remains to be seen.
Punctuated by Flynn’s crazy stories and low, throbbing bass, there is an electric atmosphere in the Rechabite. Expect to be part of the show, with Flynn stealing audience members’ drinks, throwing shade at people’s eyeshadow choices, and kissing some lucky (no longer) straight men in the audience. I genuinely think this show made people question their sexuality. Wear your best Pride outfit and practice your Vogue walk to avoid being sassed.
With absurd shenanigans, daring fire and aerial acts, and queer art, there’s not a moment of boredom. This show is breathtaking in all sorts of ways, but I didn’t get to make out with Flynn so I’m taking half a star off for that (only joking). Sadly, this party is made even more exclusive by the fact it only happens once per Fringe season, so take that, suckers… I mean, so you better hope they’ll be back next year, ‘cos this is one party you won’t want to miss.
