Comedy chaotically sprinkled with science.
This show was not what I was expecting - with the title of Science Magic XXX you would expect some magic tricks, right? Well, who needs magic tricks when science is its own magic - and the host Donal is his own brand of comedy. Running a children’s science show by day this Irish character lets rip with his more raunchy side in his late show for adults. He’s crude but quick-witted and fun. Sometimes hard to follow and erratic; Donal makes up for it by being endearing and funny, mostly at his own expense.
There is some science in the show, little tricks you can try at home and wow your friends (if they’re quite sheltered and haven’t had a basic education). These tricks are originally designed for kids so don’t expect any groundbreaking experiments here, just slightly more adult versions. But you won’t mind because Donal makes it all enjoyable. If you like your entertainment a little dirty, self-deprecating and scattered with science then this is the show for you. It’s comedy- now with added science!
