The expectations were high, after all the creative team developed a show for Madonna, so I was thinking lots of spectacle with a few audacious moments and surprises thrown in.
Add gorgeous costumes, fabulous stage surrounds, lights, music and our imaginations were primed for a delightful and highly entertaining evening.
The champagne flowed and the bubbles popped creating a light-hearted theme that flowed throughout a show of impressive acrobatic acts, mimed skits and dance routines by the cast of nine.
Gerald’s routine in the first half of the show was a definite highlight as were Milena’s acrobatic and Shun’s contortionist break dancing acts.
The hula hoop routine by Jess was mesmerising and the definite standout performance of the second half of the show. The acrobatic duo, Milena and Hampus, were awe inspiring and wonderful to watch.
I was disappointed that no-one belted out a couple of big musical numbers in accompaniment to some of the dance routines and by the lack of live music.
If you are uncomfortable with adult themes you may need to be a bit more open minded than usual, but if you sit back and relax, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the show.
The beautiful summer’s evening in the city added to our enjoyment of this high energy, entertaining, adults only cabaret show at The Pear Tree.
A fun and enjoyable night out.
