Wow. For all the racially confused and not confused out there, this show is something else for sure.

Straddling two vastly different cultures, Singapore-born and Perth-based soul singer Nicolette C hit us with the real stuff during her intimate and hilarious performance.

You know this girl means business with her hair done up in a bun and dressed in a stunning qípáo, ready to knock down stereotypes.

What’s it like going through high school speaking fluent English but ‘looking Asian’?

Or travelling overseas and being awkwardly mistaken for a local? Or even, going out into the dating scene and coming face-to-face with the most diabolical disease to arrive on our shores – Yellow Fever?

The talented singer spares no details when she recounts these experiences, backed up by her brilliant ensemble on both traditional Chinese instruments and the classic guitar bass and drums combo.

Singing an altered version of contemporary songs, you’ll be eager to clap them on, laughing at their clever renditions.

You could even say that they’re onto creating something unique and refreshing, as Nicolette’s strong vocals make a stunning pairing to the musical fusion.

Get ready to mingle with them on stage, as a couple might just be lucky enough to be introduced to the marriage customs of Singapore.

When you think that’s all the surprises for the night, the show closes with a magical number, in honour of Lunar New Year.

There’s no debate that a perfect night out includes the sass and flavour of this bi-cultural performance, so get your tickets now and end your Fringe experience with a bang.
