Alex Ward promised her dog (the only creature on earth named Kyle taking antidepressants) that Saving For A Jet Pack would be her funniest show yet, and she definitely delivers!

Alex's hour-long standup routine is performed in The Pocket in The Pleasure Gardens, and the intimate space only adds to the fun. Her conversational tone and hilarious anecdotes make the show feel less like a routine and more like a catch-up with your funniest friend over drinks.

In Saving For A Jet Pack, Alex Ward seamlessly covers an impressive number of seemingly unrelated topics.

If you want to know how Alex's patchy language skills may or may not be responsible for Ricky Ponting's reputation taking some serious damage in India, or witness a truly incredible reenactment of Alex's desperate attempts to mollify her chaotic Jack Russel terrier during a storm, then grab a ticket before it's too late! Weaving together musings about computer desktop backgrounds, late-night dim sum with strangers and a primary school project about clams, Alex jumps from topic to topic with ease (and excellent comedic timing). In Saving For A Jet Pack, she effortlessly transforms millennial housing market struggles, awkward conversations with uber drivers and a truly horrible mental image of a monkey into an excellent, laugh-a-minute show. She even manages to make lockdown, the housing crisis and her parents' divorce seem funny – a feat that has to be seen (or heard!) to be believed.

Whether you've loved Alex on Have You Been Paying Attention or are completely new to Alex's offbeat and chatty brand of comedy, this show has something for everyone! Saving For A Jet Pack will continue to run until Sunday, the 19th of February – make sure you don't miss out! Get yourself down to The Pocket for an hour of fun (and for the sake of Alex's depressed dog).
