Freakshow: An interactive murder mystery will immerse you into the world of a struggling freak show, where everyone has enough reason to want someone dead. The characters are fun, freaky, and well-developed, with plenty of secrets to uncover – if only you ask the right questions.

Freakshow gives you a little bit of everything, you will see real, polished circus acts, like an impressive and professional body contortionist, as well as a few musical numbers teeming with a little cheekiness and a lot of sass. Each performance, scene, and monologue is purposeful, and lets you learn more intimate and potentially important details about the characters and their stories. The storyline and clues are integrated well throughout the show, with clues to the murder mystery beginning as soon as you walk through the door…Everything could be something, but nothing is as it seems.

One key word that may discourage attendees is ‘interactive’, a word that will excite or terrify you. There is no denying that in Freakshow there is plenty of interaction. You can talk to the very rehearsed and talented characters before the show begins and will have the chance to interview them for clues as the story goes on. However, the interaction is not frightening whatsoever and is all voluntary. The cast members are also great at stimulating conversation and encouraging the audience to ask questions and take note of suspicious discoveries. So, even if a little bit of interaction and audience participation scares you, you can be more of an observer than a detective (though being a detective is so much fun!)

The true immersion of the audience within the storyline highlights the ingenuity of the performance and is unlike any show you will have seen before. It is the lovechild of Agatha Christie and circus and will leave you going over clues and details even after the show ends. If you’re seeking theatre, circus, music, or something a little different entirely, then it is time to don your long trench coat and magnifying glass, and solve this mystery before time runs out!
