Thrilling from beginning to end, this show is just as wild as it sounds: whip-cracking wild, doughnut-throwing wild, pink gorilla suit wild. Featuring interstate and local talent, there were fan tricks to delight even the most seasoned burlesque-goer, and I could actually tell the person in the gorilla suit was trained in bellydance before they even took it off.

With a hilarious and personable MC who brought the crowd on this crazy journey, Wildd With A Double D featured a safari through the sexiest of jungles, a stop off at the spiciest joint in the Wild West, and then a dip into our wildest BDSM fantasies. There were prop cheetahs, chains, a whole group of fun-loving cherry-bombs, and a sad clown act that was freaky in a whole different way. This show will bring to life your fantasies, then fantasies you didn’t know you had.

The performers had a compelling stage presence that commanded our attention, and for many of the performers, this wasn’t their first time at the rodeo. Some of them have had +7 years in the business, and they certainly know their stuff. You’re in good hands whether this is your first burlesque adventure, or you’re a seasoned veteran.

Just as importantly, this show was a lot of fun. Jokes abounded, the cast were personable and affectionate to each other, and audience members were salaciously beckoned and teased. There was even a sugary, saucy number in which I literally got hit in the face with a flying doughnut plushie. And it was totally hilarious.

There actually are plenty of double Ds in this show, and some As too. It was lovely to see the variety of shapes and sizes up on stage, embracing beauty in all bodies.

So if you’re down to see something pretty damn wild, consider jumping in the safari car and witnessing these outrageous, frightening and graceful animals. And if you have a fear of clowns, or gorillas; this will either cure it, or make it so much worse.
