You awaken alone in a dark room.

The options you choose will determine if you live or die in this interactive text based game show. Full of chaotic energy and randomly hilarious consequences, it's an enjoyable twist from the normal format of a comedy show. Games are played with individuals picked at random by the host (or a giant shadow hand), except for a final crazy round which is played by group vote- the loudest wins!

John Robertson is your host (and the closest thing you'll get to a tutorial) in this weird and wonderful text filled world. Dressed like a bat out of hell that somehow had a baby with a christmas tree, this energetic and foul mouthed comedian will explain in detail each terrible decision you make. And you'll make a lot. John grew up in Perth and is definitely not ashamed to use his local knowledge to rag on places (and half the crowd if they know him).

There is also a child friendly version of the show available so please -for their own sake- take them to that show; not the night show with excessive swearing and adult references. Although it is hilarious- the thought of an eight year old innocently asking his karate teacher what 'fisting' is next time he goes to class.

This Fringe experience is an awesome reminder of a performer's ability to change the structure of a comedy show and still be entertaining and quick witted. John is infectiously funny and it's hard not to be caught up in the enthusiasm of the crowd yelling 'Ya die! Ya die! Ya die!'. Highly recommended for fans of old school gaming and beginners alike.

The Dark Room is a surprisingly bright spark of a show and will have you laughing all through the night.
