Who knew that such a tiny circus tent could contain so much magic and laughter?

Cheesy, I know, but seriously the tent that this show is held in is TINY. So much so that you definitely want to get there early, or at the very least on time. A couple of people turned up late and due to the size of the tent, poor Sam had to stop the show to let them walk through his stage to find their seats – you don’t want to be those people.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. The show is Ta Da – The Ramblings of a Magician, hosted by the adorkable (are we still saying that?) Sam King.

This show is part live memoir, part comedy, and part “how in the heck did he just do that?”.

Sam starts the show by telling the audience a little about how he got started in magic and his journey to becoming the magician he is today. So far so good. After a taste of his sleight of hand tricks (seriously how did he do those??) it quickly devolves into laugh-out-loud comedy, amazing magic, and seances for dearly departed pets.

There were a couple of technical errors throughout the show, but Sam took them in his stride and they just made the bit all the more funny.

Be warned, there is a bit of audience participation in this show, Sam is very conscientious though and asks people if they are happy to do certain things beforehand – consent is key!

All of the magic tricks are great, cheesy fun, but some of them might have you wondering if Sam is an actual wizard – I’m still trying to figure some of them out! But the sign of great magic show is whispering to your friend "how did he do THAT!?" after every trick.

This show is the perfect blend of magic, comedy, and just outright weirdness. I loved every minute of it!
