This show was a knockout! Iconic rock music set the scene as we descend into the theatre, that feels very much like an underground basement studio fit for a killer rock band.

Perfectly set red lighting brings everyone’s attention to the variety of miniature instruments on stage, it then flashes and swirls as Otto and Astrid make a high-impact entrance, they came to party and they’re taking us all with them.

This sister and brother duo have mastered the art of physical comedy and instantly the audience is enamoured of their unique dynamic and hilarious song lyrics. The music is fire and the audio is perfect. Punchy rock tunes are expertly delivered with a healthy dose of offbeat humour. I have never heard about a vegetarian dinosaur who hates his job flipping burgers and it is equally important to tell the stories of robots who believe they are lions.

The last time we saw this enigmatic pair from Berlin grace our Perth stages was SIX years ago and they have just gone from strength to strength. Their show is planned and polished however there is also a measure of charming spontaneity and off the cuff improvisation to ensure this stellar show is both fresh and relevant. Beware though, Astrid has licked everything in Perth because she is making up for lost time after so long of being unable to share her “German germs”.

Otto had free reign to crank out some of the songs he wrote “all by him self” and he sings about wanting to be your kitten.

Astrid’s distaste at her brothers song is obvious but he has the audience positively hysterical so she tolerates him… barely.

As long as he doesn’t play any of his songs that are unauthorised of course.

The pair have their own special interactions with our unruly Perth audiences and they get to co-create comedy gold. Astrid is churning out beats on a tiny drum set and Otto has child sized guitars but wow they are making some big sounds! As they transition to another song Astrid gracefully handles her microphone and her physical comedy keeps everyone in great spirits.

The audience is swept up in the performance due to the jovial atmosphere dancing and singing along as their “Drinking Song” and smash-hit “Rock Bang” are played.

These two have impeccable music and comedic timing - they are a guaranteed great time.

The only thing that is missing from their next performance is you!
