An incredibly polished show from the best of the best.

Le Aerial is so much more than meets the eye. From a glance at their tickets page or flyer you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re about to see some solid acrobatics and maybe a breath-taking moment or two from the high-flying tricks, however what the cast deliver in just 60 minutes goes above and beyond expectations.

From professional ballroom dancing to super-human stunts hanging from the ceiling, Le Aerial is showcasing some of Australia’s best athletes demonstrating their most impressive cirque skills.

The show is elevated by the incredible live vocals provided throughout the show. From Sam Smith to Nina Simone, there was no feat to big for the two singers, Mike Snell and Mark Oates, to take on as they brought to life the engaging narratives being performed by the gymnasts and dancers.

An early crowd favourite was found in the aerialist duo of Maddy Flapper and Olivia Baker. The pair had the audience mesmerised from the second they stepped out and wowed with their grace, flexibility and performance skill. When they returned to the stage from a brief break, they were met with a loud ‘welcome back ladies!’ from an excited member of the crowd, and while they looked close to breaking into a giggle, they stayed on task and only impressed further with their death defying stunts.

Their act was so unique and brought that quintessential Fringe feeling of knowing you’re seeing something you couldn’t find anywhere else.

The Fringe feeling kept coming with ballroom dancing pair Sriani Argaet and Craig Molney. I’m not sure about everyone else, but I’ll admit I haven’t really thought about ballroom dancing since year 10 PE class. But now, I think they’ve converted me to a fan. Their athleticism was unlike anything I’ve ever seen, leaving me mystified as to how feet can move so fast, yet so in time. Trust me, if you think you don’t care about ballroom, think again.

Le Aerial is a seriously slick production with something for everyone. Buy a ticket as quick as you can, it’s incredibly good value and destined to sell out.
