While less likely to be regarded as pretentious as a wine tasting, Brewed Laughter is a great way to sample some local brews without all the discussion and fuss over underlying flavours. Focusing instead on the types of drinks (ales, lagers, sours), the comedians led the entire room through a range of different drinks that both a beer snob and a non-beer drinker enjoyed (so something for everyone).

Regaling us with anecdotes and fun facts about beer and it’s history, the resident comedian added to and improved the vibe of an already enjoyable evening. Also pleasantly surprised to see FRINGE WORLD shows expanding beyond the main central locations, the Dutch Trading Co provided a great venue and some additional experts in case there were any further questions on what was being offered.

Whilst a little loud at times, even with a microphone the comedian was sometimes hard to hear thanks to the crowd enjoying themselves and discussing the different beers, the experience was otherwise an enjoyable one. Depending on your preferences when drinking a brew, not all the drinks may be to your liking, but with the options being switched up each night, you’re sure to find one that you enjoy.

This isn’t your good old bush chook either, but some well brewed local craft beer, so step away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and sample some of our amazing local offerings, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two while you’re at it. At the very least, come and enjoy a drink with friends, and have a laugh with a crowd of like minded people.
