As a repeat participant in the Peddle Adults Scavenger Hunt, once again the experience tested my friendship, resourcefulness, wit and tolerance for public humiliation.
While the clock ticks and the amazing rickshaw cyclists pedal their way through crowded streets and endless traffic, you choose which challenges you’re going to complete to score the most points and win the game. But if you’re going to tick off as many as possible, what (if any) are beyond the limits of your comfort zone?
Testing a wide range of skillsets, wit, humour, sword skills, agility and an ability to feel no (or at least very little) shame, this is a great way to spend your evening. And with the delightful and entertaining cyclists helping us on our way, it’s an excellent way to experience more of the city we live in (or at least the one you’re visiting). This year pairing up with more local businesses, it’s a great opportunity to see what Perth has to offer (and maybe even take a quick dip in the Swan River).
So make sure your phones are fully charged (because everything fun must involve photographic evidence) and remember to ask nicely before stopping random strangers on the street. Make sure you’ve got comfy walking shoes on, prepare to work up a sweat and keep your hands, feet and long flowy dresses inside the peddle cab at all times!
Whether you’re doing this experience with a single friend, or taking a group to battle against, definitely worth a visit to compete for the ultimate prize and truly expand your comfort zone. If nothing else it’s a chance to be chauffered around in the heat and marvel at the talented Peddle cyclists and what Northbridge and Perth city have to offer!
