The scene is set by taking viewers away from their humble theatre seats into a Magical Dimension.

We see Selina and Adam burst onto the stage and the professional lighting and audio absolutely indicated that something exciting and perhaps even magical was about to happen. The opening act didn’t quite engage the audience as it lacked in energy, however the performers certainly had something up their sleeves. The illusions were genuinely magnificent, these were carefully crafted, elaborate and well executed.

You will see contraptions and props in this show that belong on a stage in Vegas, yet we have the privilege to see these acts on our Perth stages. The performance could have been more polished as the magicians were attempting to coordinate; tech, backstage and one another. While the illusions were spectacular the transitions fell short and it seemed like the show was more in its final stages of rehearsal. The beauty of this is that the Magic Dimension only has the potential to improve over time.

Showmanship is such an important element of magic performances and the audience would have been captivated through increased connection, a compelling storyline and healthy measure of razzle dazzle. The actual illusions (which, let’s face it are what you come to a magic show for) were second to none, if you are a fan of slight of hand, coupled with intensity, humour and drama you will be enthralled and spend the rest of your evening puzzling (like so many audience members did) at how did they actually DO that?

These magicians are keeping their secrets and we mere mortals can only be awe-inspired by what Adam and Selina will conjure into being next.
