The title says it all. It's a cliché to say that, but facts are facts, just as the five stars are. Actually, I'd give 15 stars - one for each performer - but that would cause hyperinflation. But it's not hype to bang on about how much fun and how high quality this Perth Cabaret Collective show is.

When you have a nine piece band that plays jazz and swing at the level they do, your feet do not stop tapping the entire time. Bandleader (and PCC maestro) Jess Herbert is all ebullience as she plays MC and then clicks her fingers to get each song underway, picking up her baritone sax.

Then you're treated to one, two or all of such seasoned performers as drag queen Cougar Morrison (whose banter is the epitome of filth, but that's why you bring in a drag queen, right? The tone has to be lowered, but in the best possible way), Mark Turner's smooth crooning and Melissa Gall's siren singing (and she was a literal last minute stand-in for Mia Mathiessen).

Oh, and to top it off, the fabulous physical antics and expressive dance of Perths best burlesque artists: Lucy Lovegun, Veruca Sour and Lotta L'amour.

The show never misses a beat, being everything you could want from live performance - fabulous music, songs, sequins, glitter, feathers, improvised comedy, hiccups and flamingo gloves. The only thing amiss was there were too many empty seats. Sure, it was a Tuesday night and there's a certain bug going around causing anxiety, but I must stress that you direct your mouse pointer or your finger over the 'buy tickets' button and get a seat for one of the upcoming shows this week. It runs through until Saturday.

Dismiss your anxiety with the therapeutic toe-tapping, finger-clicking, belly-laughing joy that is Spectacular, Spectacular! Beware, the seat will come up with you at the end of the show (Cougar was right about that).
