P!nk: The Circus is an incredible performance production produced and created by Barbie Q and Kinetica Circus.
The performers who graced the stage for this awe-inspiring event includes drag performer Barbie Q, and Kinetic Circus members Karl Kayoss, Matthew Pope, Anthony Tran, Fay MacFarlane, Kade Sweeney, Haydn Shadforth, Sarah Ritchie, Kenisha Yam, and Elysha Atwell.
P!nk: The Circus incorporates the use of circus acts and drag performances to enhance and explore P!nk’s iconic stage show experiences. From the use of a freestanding pole for an incredible pole dancing routine, silks which enhanced the amazing skills of each performer who graced them, a daring ariel hoop act that leaves the audience a little flustered and enchanted, two emotion performances which cause the audience to stare in awe and slightly tear up, and a contortionist act that led the audience straight into wonder-land, P!nk: The Circus brings you everything you want in a stage production.
Another important part of Pink: The Circus is the incredible group numbers – both dance and circus based. The performers supported each other and made sure everyone was safe and prepared for whatever trick or act that came next. This led to each performer looking excited and ready for whatever the performance threw at them and made this reviewer waiting for more!
Though this production focused heavily on high flying circus acts and drag, the incredible dancers behind certain group performances should also be commended for their perfect performances and how in sync they were during the whole performance. Throughout this whole production, you could tell that each individual member cared about what they put on the stage.
Something that really reached out during the production was the use of the massive cinema screen behind the stage. Each of the incredible acts utilised the massive screen behind them which showcased a variety of videos, photos, and images that introduced each P!nk song and act – and left the audience screaming for more.
P!nk: The Circus is definitely an important event to watch this FRINGE WORLD session and I cannot wait to see what Barbie Q and Kinetica have in store for us next FRINGE WORLD! Five out of Five stars.
