What do bad luck, blind mice and bearded blokes have in common… they all come in 3’s and the latter is certain to make you laugh.

Each of the gents performs their own set and have a very different and distinctive style of comedy, which makes for a well positioned and pleasant progression, as the show becomes more upbeat.

After a short intro Phil steps on stage and his love for rhythm, rhyme and a surprising rap become evident as he combines a sprinkling of satire coupled with handfuls of humour in his sage showcase. It is evident many hours have been spent meticulously selecting the words that are both funny and equally poignant to convey his message. Clean and clever, poetic and a little political, he does his time justice serving up many smiles perfectly paired with a belly of giggles.

Next up Steven arrives to centre stage to share with the audience a journey, much of his comedy relating to his own experiences. This isn’t really known until towards the end of the set and once you connect with the essence behind the laughs, it’s a great story in itself that the comic has indeed transformed his own life from sadness to smiles. It’s commendable comedy that resonates with many and applauded for the message that indeed laughter is the best medicine. He truly delivers on a barrel of laughs and is possibly on his way to a crowning as the Prince of Puns in time to come.

The third and final bearded bloke sees the evenings second Steven coming to entertain us all, and in my opinion seemed the most seasoned. Accompanied by something I have never seen before… instrumental of sorts (bloody loved it) his set is impressive and contains many moments of lofty laughs. He is delivers his comedy mostly in song and it’s nothing short of the nights show stopper, when he is joined on stage for the finale with two bearded percussionists that look really familiar.

All in all it’s great to see that’s these three men have come together and are now performing in Perth.

Evolving in time and with more exposure I’m really looking forward to enjoying their trajectory over the coming years at fringe at beyond.
