Macshane will amaze you with his combined talents of freestyle rapping and comedy. He begins the show by showing his rapping skills through the incorporation of random words inspired by the audience. He follows this by delving into the history of rap. Covering a wide variety, Macshane provides a glimpse into BBQ rap, Eshays, Trap and Grime. If you have not heard of these before, do not worry - he explains it well with a wonderful use of accents (from Lebanese to Indian to British) and colourful slides. The only issue with the slideshow was some poor choices of outlined fonts, that were hard to see from the back of the room. But they otherwise provided some great visual aids in his narrative.

His comedy included jokes about USA, England and Perth cultures, as he compared the various rap scenes and inspirations. He humorously discusses the struggles that rappers sing about and the importance of discovering one’s rapper identity.

This 30 year old from Lesmurdie has unbelievable talent with fantastic memory and ability to think on the spot. He does what all great comedians do, cleverly tying in jokes throughout the night.

The only improvement that could be made in this FRINGE WORLD show is to control the audience slightly more. As his show relies on audience participation, some overly vocal people can dominate the call out of ideas. While this may help some introverts that prefer to remain silent, it would be nice to have him shift the attention around the room to draw out some slightly quieter people. But overall, the audience was really into it with nonstop laughter.

Every night is different, so go on down and enjoy a night of comedy and rap with Macshane. He will not disappoint you.
