Be prepared for awesome! Adults Only Magic Show is the brain child of adorable double act, Sam Hume and Justin Williams. Performing together since their teens, they are accomplished, award winning magicians with multiple international touring shows, and boy does it show.

The show is slick, professional and hysterical, without losing audience connection. Running at just over an hour, Adults Only Magic Show contains slight of hand, mentalism and escapism with some fancy special effects that I won’t spoil. The tricks, the core of every magic show, left us all questioning how they had been performed. The look of wonder on the faces of the audience was testament enough to this well designed and executed show.

While the magic tricks are well crafted and expertly performed, the true success of the show is in the chemistry between their double act. Their joy, passion and love for their art emanates from the stage.

Sam primarily MCs the show, guiding the audience through each act, while Justin plays the comic relief with cheeky grins, winks and double-entendres.

For opening night, things went fairly smoothly. The double act skilfully guided audience participants (bribed to come up on stage with drinks vouchers) through various acts. There were a couple of tech issues with Sam’s microphone, which actually helped showcase the double act’s adaptability, skill and humour (gotta love live theatre!).

The “adults only” elements of the show did not overshadow the performer skill and magic, with witty one-liners flying back and forth effortlessly, and Justin’s steadfast refusal to keep his clothes on, providing an excellent audience distraction for some of the fancier tricks!

The performers also shared their moving history of a terrible event that almost derailed their career. In light of this history, it makes their creativity and professionalism all the more wonderful.

Adults Only Magic Show is clever, creative and joyful!
