Fringe favourites Head First Acrobats are back in Perth with their newest, hottest show and oh, I am glad! Crème de la Crème is an absolute delight that will amaze, surprise, disgust (!!) and excite you in equal parts.
Situated in the old auditorium at the Girls School, seating wraps around a runway stage and the performers make sure that everyone gets a good cheeky look. In such a large venue the show still felt personal whilst allowing the performers the proper space to really shine.
This hour-long show is packed with acts that take the meaning of variety to a new level. The show opens up to a steamy start with some sexy flipping bartenders that left me wanting more than just a drink. Other acts that follow include incredible acrobatic staples, wild props, an inventive use of a balloon, a questionable accent and some creative display of ketchup and teeth.
The highlight of the show is the palpable chemistry, playfulness and physical comedy between the performers who carry and maintain that energy with the audience. The attentiveness and detail of production accentuates the talented cast with a killer and refreshing soundtrack that highlighted their every move.
This is a perfect 18+ show if you’re looking for a mix of high-quality acts, lots of laughs and a taste for the little obscene. A show like this is truly what Fringe is all about. I LOVED it and I’m sure you will too!
