Ding Ding! It’s Knockout Comedy!

Step out the ring and throw away the gloves, this spectacle of a night trades the boxing attire for a microphone and a laneway, leaving the contestants armed only with their best punchlines, and oh boy do they deliver. You really can’t go amiss snagging a ticket to this laugh riot, with four talented amateur comedians each giving their best shot up on stage your bound to be left in stitches by one of the outlandish, absurd and wacky jokes they tell.

Each comedian brings their own style and flair to their individual performance which made for a varied assortment of refreshing material that didn’t feel overdone or carry on unnecessarily. This meant that jokes were both relevant and relatable to members of the audience, as you could tell by the roars of laughter and nods of approval.

The session that I attended was on a late Wednesday afternoon so naturally, it was a bit quiet in terms of show-goer attendance, but this made for an intimate show where interaction between members of the crowd and the performer were bound to happen. An improvisational component that added an authentic, lively feel rather than one of being tediously rehearsed and scripted. Despite there being a crowd of no more than ten, the fantastic comedians weren’t deterred and their enthusiasm didn’t falter. It just meant that a much more immersive crowd experience was permitted.

If you’re looking for a laugh or even better a whole heap of them, then rest assured your funny bone will be satisfied and left adequately tickled after an evening at Knockout Comedy. The mix of giggles, chuckles, snickers, tee-hees and ha has’ bounces off the walls through each set and over the entirety of the show, it’s like an amusement park funhouse. So, stroll on down and check out what the hilarity’s all about.
