Set around an 19th-century stone cottage with modern extensions, the elegant Mahogany Inn and Distillery is a beautiful heritage-listed Inn, with bar, restaurant, garden bar, courtyard dining and on-site distillery. The inn also has accommodation with 11 chic-styled bedrooms and 1 mid-20th century-styled apartment.
Situated on the Great Eastern Highway - a well-established travellers' route, once known as York Road - 'The Inn' began its legacy as a military barracks and evolved through time into roles including a wayside house, convict depot, family residence, tearooms and back once more, into an Inn.
There is live music on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The Inn also crafts gin and vodka at its on-site distillery, and offers free tastings in the bar or distillery room. The masterfully crafted range of 'Spirits of Mahogany' pay tribute to the elusive and daring characters of the Perth Hills whose stories have survived the ages.
