What My Mother Told Me

Cabaret / Comedy

Hear hilarious stories on the perils of puberty, your rights to rebel, and the blooms of what you thought was your first love from four very out the box characters.

A comical cabaret-style show that celebrates the tears, the triumphs and the love of our mothers through song and true stories.

No matter who we are or where we come from, this voyage from puberty to adulting will bring you back in touch with how motherly advice, that is not always forthcoming or welcomed, crosses boundaries and draws attention to how similar our experiences and relationships with our mothers actually are.

You'll laugh, cry and feel uncomfortably sorry for them as they play out, recount and celebrate all the best intentions of our mothers.

The Comedy Emporium exists to inspire and develop the regional WA independent arts ecology by focusing on building artists, producers and spaces. We are a social enterprise based in Geraldton WA and see a future where the role of the “Producer” is one of an innovator. With a base of over 50 regional artists across our programs we focus on developing artists to a point where they can produce their own works that have been developed based on a shared connection and cultural experience in our communities.
