Providence Gospel Choir - Oh Freedom!
Following our sold-out season at FRINGE 2017, we return with the gospel songs
that inspired the civil rights marches of 1960s America. From churches, to
mass meetings, to the streets, these songs emboldened African-Americans
and their supporters to stand up to abuse and demand change. As Mahalia
Jackson said, after singing "How I Got Over" at the March on Washington in
1963, "Tell them about the dream, Martin."

We are a non-profit, no fee and no audition church and community gospel choir. We sing gospel music outside church settings, connecting it to its role in culture. At Perth FRINGEWORLD 2017, we had a sold out season presenting 'Gospel music in movies and pop culture'.
