Perth Chinese New Year Fair 2021

The annual community event to welcome and celebrate the Lunar New Year, the year of the Ox, Perth Chinese New Year Fair 2021 is on Sunday 14 February from 12pm to 9pm.


It is free and open to the public to share the joy of Chinese Culture and Customs as well as celebrating the diversity of the Western Australian Community. The fair will be opened by lighting of firecrackers and blessing by lions.

Being held at the Perth Cultural Centre and New WA Museum Boola Bardip, the fair will feature significant Chinese culture through street food, performing arts, arts and crafts, competitions, games and information sharing. The highlight will be several entertaining and lively performances of Lion and Dragon dances as well as the colorful evening Multicultural Concert.

Chung Wah Association was founded in 1909. It is a nonprofit organisation and is the largest and most established Chinese organisation in Western Australia. We are recognised by the federal, state and local government as the spokesperson for the Chinese community in WA. There are over 2,000 financial members of the organisation.

The core values for the Association is to take care of its members and the Chinese community in terms of welfare, as well as promotion of the Chinese culture and goodwill between the Chinese community and the local community. The many services and activities of the Association including Community and Aged Care Services, Community Chinese Language Education, Chinese Folk Dance, Orchestra, Lion and Dragon Dance, Choirs, Operas, Dragon Boating, Pingpong and more.
