Perth Chinese New Year Fair 2020

Perth Chinese New Year Fair 2020 will be delivered by Chung Wah Association on Sunday 2 February from 12 pm to 9 pm. It is a free entrance community street carnival to celebrate lunar year of the Rat. The culturally rich event is full of entertainment. It features Lion and Dragon Dances and an spectacular Evening Concert.

The event will start with lighting of fire-crackers and street parade, followed by live performances at Northbridge Piazza, along James Street and at Perth Cultural Centre. It showcases Chinese Culture through visual arts, traditional and contemporary performing arts, Chinese pop music, sports, martial arts, games and workshop.

There are popular existing eateries, bars as well as popular pop-up vendor stalls offering food and beverage for the attendees to enjoy.

Chung Wah Association was founded in 1909,is a non-profit organisation and most established Chinese organisation in Western Australia. It is recognised by the Federal, State and local governments as the spokesperson for the Chinese Community. The total number of financial members is 1,300. The core values for the Association is to take care of its members and the Chinese Community in terms of welfare, as well as promotion of the Chinese Culture and goodwill between the Chinese community and the local community. The services and activities that the Association have establised included: Community and Aged Care, Chinese School, Cultural Dance, Chinese Orchestra, Lion and Dragaon Dance, Dragon Boating and Operas. Perth Chinese New Year Fair is the iconic annual event organised by Chung Wah.
