Night Sweats
A rumination on mortality, privilege and perception, Night Sweats casts a frenetic internal monologue onto the stage; exposed and uncompromised in all its bizarre glory. A darkly humorous piece of storytelling, song and visual magic, this is one man's ode to the witching hour.
This work is the first official production from Perth based company Static Drive. Night Sweats brings together emerging and established creatives to create an intimate spectacle, speaking to this age of short attention spans and uncertainty.
Presented by: The Blue Room Theatre Summer Nights & Static Drive Co.
Static Drive Co. is a newly established, Perth based theatre company comprising Timothy Green, Samantha Maclean & Haydon Wilson. The company is concerned with the creation of new, contemporary work. Having met in the inaugural cohort of the Bachelor of Performance Making, these three key creatives share an interest in the power of both language and movement for storytelling, and in using craft and image to make visual magic onstage. Green and Maclean have previously collaborated as co-writers and co-directors of Tissue at The Blue Room Theatre in 2016. Green, Wilson and Maclean all worked on Well Mannered as part of Summer Nights 2017, and Wilson and Maclean are recently collaborated on Arteries by Ancestry for FUGUE, 2017.
