About this event

"Homebrand" combines the safety of your own living room, where you can be anyone you want to be, with the coldness that you feel the first time you tell your mum 'she doesn't understand'. It's that first time you see dad cry, had a fight, the cuddles on the sofa, the pile of shoes by the front door.

Riptide Youth Performance Company dives into their biological connections, combining an everyday domesticity mixed with stylised imagery that explores how you can be so close to your family genetically and in other ways be so far apart.

Mandurah's most prolific youth contemporary performance company will draw on baby photos, dad jokes, bad cereal and the family you just wish you had, to bring you a sometimes awkward, sometimes heartbreaking nostalgic cuddle.

Presented by:
Mandurah Performing Arts Centre & Riptide Youth Performance Company

Riptide aims to create high quality contemporary performances which challenge and celebrate our community. Riptide also aims to empower youth in our community by giving them control over their own creativity to make theatre, as well as encourage growth by teaching new skills and creating an environment in which the members can learn from each other.
