About this event

Have you ever dreamt of a lonely planet?

Far, far away, past the stars and the dark side of the moon. A place where night and day occur every half hour, with an orbit that stumbles at each skipped heartbeat. An expansive galaxy that lives between the lungs of a 12-year-old boy...

His bicycle, it's growing wings! He's zooming into outer space, past stars that glow like fairy lights under a soft blanket of sky. He is so far away from himself, from the place where nothing makes sense. He is the Night Wanderer, big and strong and endless.

Three dance-theatre artists and a live sound composer bring to life the abstract story of a young boy’s journey to the "Lonely Planet", told through emotive movement, highly physicalized caricatures, shadow puppetry, and a simple transformative set design.

Presented by:
Flying Bicycle Collective

Flying Bicycle Collective is directed by emerging artists Estelle Brown and Izzy Leclezio. As a collective we believe deeply in the transformative power of contemporary dance and children’s theatre to appeal to both the young and young at heart! In this FRINGE WORLD premiere at State Theatre Centre of WA, we join forces with composer Sophia Hansen-Knarhoi and dance artist Bernadette Lewis.
