Dr Ahmed Gets Hitched - A Wedding Extravaganza!

Come prepared for tears of laughter and joy as Perth's favourite GP takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of just how he got hitched. Not everything is smooth sailing when you are planning an epic Greek-Pakistani-inter-faith-inter-racial-same-sex wedding: wardrobe malfunctions, a missing MC and a family boycott (yes boycott).

Like a bad case of hives, Dr Ahmed manages to remedy all of these, and through stand up, storytelling and cabaret, this sell out artist delivers an important message - Love wins!

Come dressed in your wedding best! Category is ‘BAFTAs meets Bollywood’. There is a prize for best dressed each show (you can even wear your own wedding outfit!) and if you want to be included in a photo montage celebrating love and diversity in Perth send your wedding photos and a brief description here.

Guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, and possibly wet yourself (just a little bit), don't miss the world premiere of this heart-warming adventure.

Presented by: Dr Ahmed Kazmi

Dr Ahmed Kazmi is a GP who splits his time between England and Australia. He is passionate about his job as a doctor and loves to weave that into his performance work. He debuted as a comedian in 2016 and since has gone on to have several sold out seasons at prestigious festivals including Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He won the Barefaced Story Telling Challenge in Perth 2016 and was nominated best cabaret act at FRINGE WORLD 2018. His motto is humour with a point and he enjoys using humour as a vehicle to canvass serious issues such as bereavement, Islamophobia and of course, health. He also attests that laughter really is the best medicine! This is his first venture showcasing a piece more to do with his personal life than his work life.
