After a sold out season at FRINGE WORLD Festival 2017, the Cultural Renegades
crew are back! Fusing spoken word and dance in an immersive atmosphere,
Cultural Renegades breaks the mould of a traditional dance show. This Hip
Hop and Dancehall performance weaves through the audience defying cultural
barriers through movement and poetry.
Nominated and shortlisted for a dance award at FRINGE WORLD Festival 2017, Cultural Renegades makes the audience feel a part of the show, encouraging the notions of unity and freedom of expression while taking the audience back to a time where cypher circles dominated a night out.

Cultural Renegades comprises of 10 dancers skilled in Hip Hop and Dancehall choreography and freestyle, and independent music artist, Strictly DT, who narrates the show through original works of poetry and spoken word.
They debuted their first show at Fringe World Perth in 2017 to sold-out audiences, receiving an award nomination for Best Dance & Physical Theatre Act. They were also warmly welcomed at Sydney Fringe Festival in 2017, receiving a Sydney Morning Herald 4 star review on opening night.
Conceptualised by Creative Director, Lisa Crowe, Cultural Renegades explores the
social aspects of freedom, escapism and unity in an immersive, feel-good environment.
