About this event

Backed by the driving rhythm of a live percussionist, seven acrobats push their physical limits repeatedly without reserve. Simultaneously raw, frantic and joyful, A Simple Space evokes real responses in audiences, something visceral rather than cerebral.

Without makeup, lighting and contrived theatrical overlay, the cast has deliberately focused on their exceptional skill, playful competitiveness, trust and friendship. The audience is brought in close to surround the performers. You can feel the sweat, hear every breath, and be immersed in every moment. This honesty is the essence behind A Simple Space.

"Stripped back and raw... an awe-inspiring display of strength, skill, and creativity." ★★★★★, The Advertiser

"Cirque du Soleil with a fistful of grit." ★★★★★, UK Express

Presented by:
Gravity & Other Myths

We are Gravity and Other Myths, but our mates call us GOM. A circus company with roots in Adelaide, Australia, we utilise an honest approach to performance to create work with a focus on human connection and acrobatic virtuosity. After forming in 2009 as a group of young Adelaide artists with a passion for circus and physical theatre, we’ve spent the past 15 years growing steadily and creating seven critically acclaimed main stage works.
