The WA Gold Fields’ History through song, story, verse, and (almost true) anecdotes.
In 1892, 36-year-old Prospector William Ford picked up a 1/2oz gold nugget on a grassy area, which was later to be known as Fly Flat.
Together with his 26-year-old Prospecting partner, Arthur Bayley, they awakened a sleeping giant, which was to become the WA Eastern Goldfields.
The effect this had on both Western Australia and indeed Australia, was profound. Join us in the telling of this rollicking tale of the People who Lived, Worked, and passed into History..............

Phil Gray has been playing, singing and telling stories about his beloved homeland for more years than he cares to remember… from sitting on the front fence outside his Uncle Bill’s home in Dugan Street Kalgoorlie, as a 5-year-old, waiting for ‘The Wild Colonial Boy’ to ride past. “You just wait there mate, he comes past here at a quarter to four every afternoon”. What chance did a kid have from then on ……..and so, together with his wife, Yvonne, as Warralakin - you can Hear the Stories, Smell the Dust, Listen to Music. We are fortunate to have been joined for our presentation by 3 wonderfully talented musicians- Karien Rollinger, and John and Joe Ralph, who bring with them a wealth of musical talent and professionalism in live performance second to none.Suitability & warnings
