The Man From Sunny Side Lodge
The police have been called! A criminal is on the loose! But this isn’t your average criminal chase. Because the man on the run is in fact a resident of Sunny Side Lodge Retirement Village: A 79-year-old man by the name of Humbert Gregory. Along with 18-year-old volunteer worker, Cecil, Humbert escapes the retirement home and storms across the desert of Western Australia with one object glistening on the horizon: FREEDOM! But as the local authorities catch up with Humbert, his past mistakes are thrown into the light, and he is forced to decide between Freedom and Family. The Man from Sunny Side Lodge considers the idea of family; in one sense contemplating our skin-to-skin relations, as well as the connections that are built between residents and staff in retirement homes.
