The Empire Strikes Up the Band
After an award-winning season in 2025, the Empire Band returns to pay homage to the intergalactic compositions of John Williams. Few composers have such an enduring legacy in popular culture, and the themes from Star Wars are parsecs ahead of the rest!
"The Empire Strikes up the Band" is a journey through the musical worlds of Star Wars, from the sweeping majesty of "Binary Sunset", to the heart-pounding action of "Duel of the Fates", and even some compositions by the legendary Max Reebo!

Performing professionally in Perth for nearly a decade before relocating to NSW, James is in demand as a band leader or session musician. He fronts the high-energy outfit "Brass Party", and plays with acts from a variety of genres, from hip-hop to jazz.
Alongside the Empire Band, he has been putting on award-winning FRINGE WORLD shows since 2023.
