She Said What?

What happens when iconic songs by Australia’s fiercest women songwriters are reimagined for chamber ensemble? She Said What? reimagines the music of Missy Higgins, Angie McMahon and Sia — alongside Katie Noonan, Emily Wurramara and Kate Miller-Heidke — with soaring vocals, strings, winds and piano.

Expect raw emotion, bold storytelling and unexpected beauty as MIRABILIS COLLECTIVE dives into anthems of love, loss, protest and power. Part concert, part reinvention, this 60-minute show celebrates the guts and genius of Australian women in song — unplugged and unforgettable.

What began as a collaboration between friends and colleagues has grown into a nationally recognised group celebrated for artistic excellence and cultural leadership. We place women’s voices centre stage, reimagining music across six centuries — from classical and folk to pop and contemporary — with a special focus on Australian composers and songwriters. Since launching, Mirabilis has delivered over 40 performances and projects across WA, including Her Sound, Her Story — a sold-out International Women’s Day concert featuring 160 voices — and Finding Connie, a music–theatre work uncovering the lost genius of songwriter Connie Converse.
