Sean Diao: I’m Much Funnier Since My Dad is Dead
Born and raised in China, Sean Diao's been pushing boundaries and embracing dark humour on Australian stages since 2013. Now an Australian citizen, he's a regular in comedy rooms across Melbourne and the country, and has been seen on ABC & SBS.
In 2024, he joked onstage that his father would be tortured and killed by the Chinese government as a warning to Sean - to be more respectful to China. 2 weeks later, a WeChat message came that his father was in the ICU. 3 days after that, Sean was on a plane to attend the funeral.
This show has a bunch of jokes about that funeral, as well as LGBTQ+ issues, JK Rowling, religion, and cultural beliefs.
