"Rhapsody in Chicago Blues" with pianist Tim Barton is a solo recital featuring classical, jazz and Chicago blues and boogie-woogie piano. Accomplished pianist Tim plays original compositions (blues, ragtime, modern jazz piano), beautiful classical works (Chopin, Debussy), jazz standards/straight-ahead improv and speaks about the music and composers. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago - "The home of the blues", the singular Chicago Jazz scene along with folk, roots rock and life in the late 60's and early 70's gave Tim a wondrous emersion in musical influence, allowing him to create a “Language through the piano”, speaking all sounds of music.
Professional career now spanning 45 years has taken Tim around the world as a performer. Highlights include many classical piano recitals and solo jazz piano performances, Ravinia Festival, Master Classes with Paul Skoda, Menahem Pressler and Misha Dichter and Orchestra Hall Chicago
