21 January – 15 February

This show belongs to the Fringe2023 season. This season is now over.

Note Bashing

A once united front, Rhythmos Choir has been divided after their differences in musical taste tore them apart. The punks, academics, and layabouts of Rhythmos will face off in a trial of quick thinking, musical prowess, and entertainment value in a fully improvised game-show round robin, singing covers picked and modified by you, the audience! After all, what better way to settle your differences, than a fully improvised game show where the songs are all covers and the points don’t matter?

Stars will rise and heroes will fall in this crazy concoction of on-the-spot covers and barbaric barbershop. Who will steal the spotlight with a perfectly harmonized vocal symphony? Who will fumble over mumbled lyrics? And will one team prove themselves the apex a capella artists?

Presented by: Rhythmos Choir

Rhythmos Choir is an award-winning a cappella choir founded by Jonathan Paxman in early 2014. Paxman envisioned a high-quality auditioned chorus of talented singers combining musical excellence with showmanship and fun. In mid-2021, the wonderfully talented Ryan Nicholson stepped in as Rhythmos’ director, inspiring the addition of complex vocal techniques and improvisation to our musical arsenal.
Rhythmos, now 30 voices strong, is based out of Curtin University and regularly performs at events of all kinds from the bright lights of New York to our favourite haunts around Perth. We aim to entertain all audiences with our wide range of styles and repertoire, including pop bangers, modern and historical classics, and now, totally improvised a cappella covers.
